Anticancer A New Way Of Life (Book Review)

Every single person needs to read this book! All of us have cancer cells in our bodies. But not all of us will develop cancer.

David Servan-Schreiber, MD, PhD, has written an international bestseller and updated this newest edition with the latest research with how our lives have changed since the World War II, thus explaining the drastic increase in the percentages of cancer particularly in our Western world.

This book is a beautiful story of how this doctor’s life was changed when diagnosed with brain cancer and how he confronts research with how our environment, lifestyle, and trauma plays a direct role in our health and in the growth in cancer cells  in our bodies.

He shares with us proven, statistical information about how to structure our diets around cancer-fighting foods, what new chemicals and harmful substances are in our environment and maps out an easy way of living to avoid nurturing cancer cells, including mind-body balancing techniques.

Choosing to avoid nurturing cancer cells in our bodies also equates to making better choices for our earth, as it means replacing chemicals with natural ingredients, choosing organic over non-organic, etc. So, this lifestyle is a win-win plan and this book belongs in everyone’s life. I think it is super cool that the author has also revised this several times with the latest cancer research, with the latest edition published in 2009. Based on my personal experiences, there is so much in our medical world and about the human body that we still do not know. There is no “cancer blood test”. It’s not that simple to detect.

As stated so well by B.K.S. Iyengar “The body is your temple. Keep it pure and clean for the soul to reside in.”
